Another Volcanic Eruption
Mount Mayon of the Philippines erupted on Monday afternoon for approximately 8 minutes and has since erupted five more times. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported that the eruptions caused at least 1.8 miles worth of debris. Evacuation camps were set up to help the 56,000 people that had to flee from their homes near-by. Mayon is one of the Philippines’ most active volcanoes having erupted 50 times in the past 500 years. Mount Mayon is 1 of 6 actively erupting volcanoes today.
