Kabul Bombing
A religious gathering in Kabul was the target of a suicide bomb attack, killing at least 50 people. Another 82 people were wounded and some are in critical condition, according to the Health Ministry. Religious delegates from all over Afghanistan were gathered to celebrate the birthday of the Prophet Mohammed. The celebration was organized by the Afghan Ulema Council, the country’s largest religious body. The president of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani, condemned the bombing, stating that it is “an attack on Islamic values.” No one has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

Romaine Recall
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a warning against the consumption of romaine lettuce as cases of E.Coli linked to the leafy green are popping up throughout the country. 32 people in 11 states have been infected with E.Coli and 18 of the cases are in California. The CDC has not yet pinpointed where the infection began. The CDC recommends throwing out all romaine lettuce in your refrigerator and sanitize anywhere the lettuce may have made contact with. Earlier this year, E. Coli linked to romaine lettuce sickened 210 people and killed 5.

India
Man Killed By Tribe
A 27-year-old American was killed by tribespeople while trying to enter the North Sentinel Island. This remote island, situated a few hundred miles off the coast of India, is inhabited by the small Sentinelese tribe, thought to consist of only a dozen people. It is prohibited to enter the island located in the Andaman and Nicobar archipelago under Indian law, since the tribe is endangered and is at risk of catching outsiders’ diseases. The ban is also in place because the Sentinelese are known to attack outsiders with a bow and arrow. The man who was killed was a missionary, illegally brought to the island by seven local fishermen.
