Britain
Escorted Out
On Tuesday, officials announced that the Britain’s Royal Navy ship (HMS St. Albans) escorted one of the Russian warships (Admiral Gorshkov) through the North Sea near UK waters. In addition, a Royal Navy helicopter was used to track the other Russian vessels in the area. The navy also stated that there has been a recent surge in the number of Russian vessels traveling near UK waters. British Defense Secretary Gavin William said they will not “hesitate in defending our waters or tolerate any form of aggression.” Relations between the two nations have remained tense since Moscow’s annexation of Ukraine’s Crimea peninsula in 2014.
