Ancient City “Tenea” Discovered
Close to the modern-day city Chiliomodi, archaeologists discovered remnants of ancient city Tenea in Greece. They uncovered a housing settlement, coins, jewelry, and burial remnants, dating back to 400 BC. The city is believed to have been founded by Trojan War captives and was located on a trade route in the northern Peloponnese, linking Corinth and Argos. Archaeologists began their excavation work in 2013 after seeing the city mentioned in multiple historical documents.

East Africa
Endangered Species Report
According to a report released Wednesday by the International Union of Conservative Nature, prospects for endangered mountain gorilla populations have improved. While still classified on the endangered species list, numbers for mountain gorillas have risen from 600 in 2008 to over 1000 now. Conservationists attribute the rise in numbers to intensive anti-poaching patrols and veterinarians caring for gorillas in the wild. The species has been reclassified from critically endangered to endangered.
