Smog Grounds Flights
The Indian Medical Association declared a public health emergency on Tuesday, as levels of smog reached levels 30 times of what the World Health Organization considers safe. United Airlines temporarily suspended Newark-New Delhi flights due to air quality concerns. Much of the pollution is attributed to the annual burning of crop stubble in northern states.
