Costa Rica
Fatal Flight
Costa Rican investigators are trying to determine if strong winds was the cause of a deadly plane crash that claimed the lives of all 12 on board. The incident occurred in a mountainous area near Bejuco in Guanacaste province on New Year’s Eve. The dead included a family of four from Florida, a family of five from New York, and the Costa Rican pilot and co-pilot.  Heavy winds earlier in the day had forced the plane to land at another airport and delaying the families arrival in Punta Islita.
