Kenya
Election Re-Run
Kenya held a re-run of its presidential election today but the opposition boycotted and clashes broke out between Kenyan police officers and protesters. The clashes killed one person and injured others in the opposition stronghold of Kisumu in the west, where some people have even blocked access to polling stations. The vote comes after President Uhuru Kenyatta was declared the winner in the original August election which was annulled by the Supreme Court due to irregularities in the electoral process.

JFK Records Release
The National Archives is releasing today a final trove of previously classified records related to the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Documents pulled from the CIA, FBI, Defense and State Departments, and other agencies related to the investigation of Kennedy’s murder are being released 25 years after the passage of the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992. The law allowed that the records be made available after 25 years, if President Trump allows their release.
