Kenya
Voting Suspension
Kenya’s electoral commission says fewer than 34% of registered voters took part in Thursday’s re-run of the presidential election. This figure is a steep drop compared to the initial poll in August, when nearly 80% of the electorate voted. Voting has been suspended until Saturday in four areas where supporters of opposition leader, Raila Odinga clashed with police.Click on the map to view the 2017 Kenya elections tracking app. The app helps polling agents and the general public receive election results.

United States
Lost & Found
After spending nearly five months adrift in the Pacific Ocean, two U.S. yachtswomen and their two dogs have been rescued by the US Navy. The women had set off in a small sailing boat from Hawaii on a trip to Tahiti when their engine failed. They then drifted in the open seas about 1,500km southeast of Japan. The US Navy said distress calls made by the women were not picked up because they were not close enough to other vessels or shore stations. This map depicts the location which the two women and dogs were adrift in the Pacific Ocean. Click on the map to learn more about the story.
