GOP Tax Bill
In a vote in the early hours of Wednesday morning, the Senate approved the final version of the first overhaul of the US tax code.The bill passed along party lines, 51-48 with the final result announced by Vice President Mike Pence. The bill should help with lowering taxes for small businesses, individuals and corporations, which will in turn boost economic growth. However, the bill has been criticized as only benefiting corporations (taxes reduced from the current rate of 35% to 21%) and the rich while at the same time affecting those living in high-tax, high-cost states. This interactive map shows which counties would be most impacted by a cap on property tax deductions due to the GOP Tax Bill. Click on the map to see how each county is impacted.

Mexico
Deadly Bus Crash
At least 12 people died and several injured when a bus carrying cruise ship passengers overturned in south-eastern Mexico. The bus was transporting 31 passengers from the coastal village of Mahahual to the Mayan ruins at Chaccobén when the incident occurred. In a statement released by the bus company, those on board were of different nationalities which included the US, Italy, Sweden and Brazil. This map depicts the village of Mahahual where the bus was traveling from and Chaccobén which was suppose to be the final destination. Click on the map to learn more.

Kenya
Nightclub Fire
At least four people have been confirmed dead and six others missing after a fire blazed through the Dream City nightclub in Kondele, Kisumu County. The building was used as both a nightclub and guesthouse and according to the local police, the number of fatalities are expected to rise as many could still be trapped inside due to the lack of emergency exits. The cause of the fire has not been established but police are suspecting an electrical fault. This map depicts Kisumu County where the fire occurred.
