State Sponsored Terrorism List
The Trump administration is preparing to add Venezuela to the U.S. list of state sponsors of terrorism. The list already includes North Korea, Syria, Sudan, and Iran. The move to add Venezuela to the list is lead by Senator Marco Rubio and other Republican lawmakers, who claim that the Venezuelan government has ties to terror groups such as the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia or FARC. Opponents of this move say that there is not enough evidence to support this claim and it could ruin the already existing list’s legitimacy. Adding the country to the list would result in financial and economic sanctions on Venezuela.

Hospital Shooting In Chicago
Monday afternoon a gunman killed three people at the Mercy Hospital in Chicago. The victims include two hospital workers and a policeman. The shooting was a consequence of a dispute over a broken engagement between the attacker and the first victim, a young female employed as an emergency room doctor at the hospital. The gunman also shot at other police officers arriving at the scene, subsequently trying to flee by running into the hospital, where he then killed himself a few minutes later.
