Tornado Casualties
On Sunday evening, at least 23 people were killed and 50 others injured in Lee County, Alabama after a tornado ripped through the area. According to the National Weather Service, the tornado had at least an F3 rating and a half mile wide track. Several other tornadoes touched down and left debris strewn across Georgia, the Florida Panhandle and parts of South Carolina. More than 10,000 homes and businesses were damaged in the violent storms and officials project the death toll may rise.

Australia
Bushfires Spread
A series of bushfires are sweeping through Australia’s southeast after lightning strikes on Friday ignited the blazes. Thousands have been evacuated from the affected areas and about 2,000 firemen have been deployed to fight the fires. The worst affected area is Bunyip State Park where over 14,800 acres have burned.  Dry hot weather and unfavorable wind patterns could combine to spread the fires farther.
