United States
Travel Ban Extension
The Trump administration has extended a travel ban to six new countries in Africa and Asia on Friday, citing a failure to meet U.S. minimum security requirements. Immigration restrictions include suspension of visas and visa lotteries for Nigeria, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Myananmar, Sudan and Tanzania which go into effect later this month. These restrictions follow Trump’s travel ban campaign in 2017, where he restricted travel from Muslim-majority countries, including Iran, Syria, Yemen, Libya, and Somalia, as well as North Korea, and Venezuela. With the addition of these six countries, the U.S. has imposed restrictions on 13 countries in total.

United Kingdom
Stabbing Attack
A man was shot and killed by police after going on a stabbing rampage on  a busy street in the Streatham neighborhood of south London yesterday. Two pedestrians were stabbed and a third was injured from broken glass at the scene of the attack. The man was carrying a machete and wearing a fake explosive device at the time of the stabbing. The attacker had been released from prison in January following indictment on terror charges and was under active police surveillance. All three victims of the attack were transported to a local hospital and one was reported to have life-threatening injuries. Police are describing the attack as “terrorist-related” and Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced plans today to fundamentally rework the processing of convicted terrorists in the U.K.

Burkina Faso
Attack on Village
Suspected jihadists killed nearly 20 people in an overnight attack in the Seno province of northern Burkina Faso. The attack occurred near the province of Soum, where last week 39 were killed in an attack by extremists. Burkina Faso is bordered by Mali and Niger, two countries which have been struggling to contain extreme militants. France recently pledged to send 600 more troops to the region to combat the violence.

A: Brussels, Luxembourg, Strasbourg, and Frankfurt
