Yemen
Attack on Training Camp
A missile attack on Saturday against a Yemeni military training camp in the Marib province has left over 111 dead according to officials.  The missile struck a mosque at the al-Estiqbal camp where soldiers were gathered for prayer. The Yemeni government has blamed the Houthi rebels for the attack with Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi adding the attack “confirms without a doubt that the Houthis have no desire for peace.” This is one of the deadliest attacks since the Yemeni war between Houthi Rebels and the government forces began 5 years ago and triggered one of the worst  ongoing humanitarian crises.

Migrants Push Forward
A group of migrants travelling through Central America have reached the border of Mexico and Guatemala hoping to cross into Mexico.  Some were able to cross the Rodolfo Robles International Bridge into Mexico from Tecun Uman, Guatemala.  Many, however, were met with push back and teargas from Mexico’s troops attempting to deter the emigrants from crossing. In hopes of increasing their chance of advancing, many migrants withdrew back into Tacun Omen awaiting the arrival of more migrants.  Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico have pledged to deter the advancement of migrants into the United States or risk losing American aid.

Nepal
Seven Missing After Avalanche
On Tuesday, rescuers continue the search for four South Korean trekkers and three Nepalis after an avalanche occurred on Mount Annapurna about 150 km (90 miles) northwest of the capital Kathmandu. The group was descending near Annapurna base camp around 3,230m above sea level when the avalanche struck, dumping over 12 feet (3.6 meters) of snow at the site. Police officials reported about 200 people, including 140 foreign hikers, were evacuated from the area. Experts state the chances of survival are extremely low for those buried in an avalanche for more than two hours. Mount Annapurna is the world’s tenth highest mountain and is avalanche-prone, claiming more lives than Mount Everest.
