Yemen
Battle Rages Over Airport
Backed by a Saudi-led Arab Coalition, pro-government forces launched airstrikes on Hudaydah airport in Yemen. Hudaydah is a critical port city for the people of Yemen, and is the only major port controlled by the Houthi rebels. The airstrikes targeted Houthis who were holed up inside the Hudaydah airport. Pro-government forces hope to limit damage to infrastructure given the city’s importance. Reports show that at least 139 fighters, mostly rebels, have been killed in the Hudaydah offensive, as pro-government forces and the Arab coalition try to take the city back. This map depicts the location of Hudaydah and its major infrastructure. Click on the map to learn more.

England
Three Killed by Train
On Monday, British police confirmed three unidentified men were found dead after being hit by a train at Loughborough Junction station near Brixton, South London. The reason the young men were on the track has yet to be determined; however, spray cans were reportedly found near the bodies. It is believed the men could have been struck overnight, when freight trains use the rail network more often because passenger pathways are clear. It is not clear if the three were hit by a freight train or passenger service train. This map depicts Loughborough Junction near Brixton station. Click on the map to learn more.
