Mapped in World Digital Map is a non-profit for working in the tech environment. The creators wanted to connect people who work in the tech world. After listening to several discussions about economic situations, they thought that it was time to do something “rather than sitting and waiting for the worst to come.”
Mapped in World maps have mapped where tech companies are based to help people find companies they could potentially work at in a specific area. Users can find maps for over 50 different countries around the world. Since this map is made by a non-profit they appreciate user input and are looking to expand to more countries.
The website is great for looking in specific locations. There are symbols for where a company is located and when there are clusters of companies they are grouped with a number telling you how many there are.
Websites like Mapped in World are valuable resources because many people in the geography field are involved in programming and other technical skills. The two subjects work closely together and can share resources.
