The company has information on permits, regulations and activities to do in many of the states throughout the US. Topophi gets their information directly from the National System of Public Land, the US Forest Service, the National Park Service, Recreation.gov, and OpenStreetMap. These sources are all the top places with this information.
If you want to know what trails connect to which landmarks or water sources, which peaks you can conquer, what permits you will need, where and how to get them, where to park your vehicle without getting in trouble, what regulations there are, what activities are allowed, or even who the rangers are and how to contact them, Topophi is the place to go.
The mission of Topophi is to empower adventurers with the knowledge and tools to have the best experiences in the outdoors. Topophi’s love of the land will support and create meaningful relationships between rangers, explorers, and the woodlands.
Topography is the arrangement of land. People are often drawn to diverse topography. Many national parks protect land with beautiful mountains and valleys.
Co-Founder Joanna Khachikiann explained that the team is “a group of backpackers who love spending nights under the stars and taking care of each other on the trail. We started Topophi because there is no easy way to access all the important information you need to plan any backpacking or outdoor adventure. We realized there is an opportunity here and got to work. We built a website that helps people access the tools they need to start an adventure. Moving forward we are actively working on adding trailheads, detailed trail information, and images to give life to Topophi. ”
Protected lands are such an important part of our country, and some of the most visited places. Going into the wilderness of our national parks is inspiring and everyone learns more about themselves and the environment. Being in touch with the land that we live on is so important.
