Travlytics is a webapp that provides explorers with visualized statistics and maps based on their personal travel history.

It also doubles as the first social media platform based on travel that I have ever heard of. It allows you to add friends, and see where among them you rank for travel (either worldwide or by continent). It also shows you where you and friend overlap in a certain area.

Here’s what Travlytics CEO Jeremy Sapriel told the American Geographical Society:
“After traveling to a few countries, I reflected on my experiences. I realized that I knew a lot of detailed facts about each country and the total number of countries I that I traveled to, but had no way to combine those details across countries. I wanted to frame my travel experiences and passions within the context of the world to continue exploring where I’ve been and where I could go next. With Travlytics, my cofounders and I see the potential to use maps as a medium to frame and share those personalized insights. Maps will be used as an interactive tool for continuing to learn about what the world looks like from the point of view of your passions, friends, and travel history.”
This fun service can really help you understand in context where you have and have not been, and the interactive map will assist you in deciding where to travel next. There has always been a level of healthy competition among those afflicted with wanderlust, and now there is a way to display it and learn from it.
