The National Tribal Geographic Information Support Center offers GIS support specifically for Native Americans. This is an invaluable resource for all members of our nation’s tribal communities, but especially for students and faculty at tribal colleges and universities. There are currently 32 fully accredited Tribal colleges in the United States and many of them have great GIS and Geography programs, such as Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute, Haskell Indian Nations University, and Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwa Community College.
Among many other fantastic resources, TribalGIS.com features a tribal GIS interactive web map, powered by ESRI. NTGISC also has their 2015 conference coming up in Albuquerque, New Mexico from November 16th through November 20th. They will feature many great presentations, networking opportunities, and workshops.
